Resolution Contracting delivered a specialist restoration after water damage to a residential lounge, carefully removing and reinstating ornate fibrous plaster ceiling linings and a large decorative crown cornice. To preserve the home’s original character, we fabricated a bespoke one-off mould cast from a cleaned sample of the existing cornice, then installed, carved, and seamlessly blended new plaster elements into the fabric of the room. Traditional methods were followed throughout, including fibrous plaster ceiling installation with wadding connections over battens to replicate the original build.

The wider reinstatement included replacing affected wall linings, fitting new finishing timber mouldings to match existing profiles, and completing full plaster stopping, pigmented sealer, and premium paint finishes across walls and ceilings. The result is a beautifully restored space—true to its heritage detail yet finished to modern standards.
