With the homeowners overseas during the early stages, we set up clear digital communication and regular progress updates to keep decisions moving and maintain confidence until their return. Working alongside the insurer and the appointed restoration contractor, we provided end-to-end oversight—from moisture detection and drying through to structural reinstatement and fit-out.
The insurance scope covered full strip-out of affected areas, replacement of ceilings, wall linings and damaged joinery, new skirtings and finishing lines, plastering and repainting throughout, new carpet and vinyl, and electrical/plumbing disconnects and reconnects. In parallel, we integrated client-requested upgrades: a Mitsubishi heat pump with concealed pipework, reconfigured power points and pendant lighting with minor re-wiring, new plumbing fixtures and services (including a relocated fridge line), and refreshed toilets and vanities. The kitchen was fully redesigned and replaced with full-height melamine cabinetry, a 20 mm engineered stone benchtop, an undermount sink, and quality hardware.
Mid-strip-out we uncovered additional moisture beyond the initial scope. We moved quickly to assess, price, and secure insurer approval so the programme stayed on track. Remote client management, hidden damage, and a compressed timeframe were addressed through tight sequencing, transparent variation processes, and close coordination with suppliers and subcontractors.
The property was delivered in seven weeks, fully restored and modernised—surpassing its pre-loss condition. The coordinated effort between Resolution Contracting, the insurer, restoration team, and client produced a high-quality, low-stress outcome with minimal disruption for the homeowners.
