Concrete Wall Reinstatement in Murrays Bay

Case Studies

Reinstatement of a concrete boundary wall after accidental impact damage in a constrained residential setting

Duration: 4 Weeks
Scope: Demolition, excavation, reinforced concrete foundation and wall construction, reinstatement of fixtures and finishes
Location: Murrays Bay, North Shore

The site presented tight access, shared boundaries, and immediate proximity to a high-traffic intersection, requiring careful sequencing and stakeholder coordination from day one.

We managed the project end-to-end: initial make-safe, demolition, civil excavation, structural rebuild, and final landscaping. Our team worked closely with neighbours, arborists, traffic management providers, utility companies, and Auckland Transport to maintain safety and momentum. Works included temporary fencing and privacy screening, traffic management (stop/go operations and temporary bus stop relocations), secure work zones near road shoulders, and full service coordination—close-approach permits, utility locating and potholing with Vector and others, and arborist reporting with onsite monitoring to protect a council-protected tree. After removing the damaged wall and adjacent fence sections, we excavated and prepared new footings with subsoil drainage, then constructed a reinforced concrete foundation and 150 mm concrete block wall with matching block columns and cappings.

Finishing works delivered a cohesive, durable result: full plaster render and a customer-selected paint system, reinstallation of timber gates and fencing with modified trellis panels, landscaping with topsoil and seeding, and a thorough site clean with removal of temporary works. Despite multiple overlapping constraints, the reinstatement was completed on time and to specification, respecting the original design intent while significantly improving resilience and visual appeal.
