Multi-Stage Residential Recovery & Reinstatement – Cyclone Gabrielle Event
Resolution Contracting managed a complex, multi-stage recovery following Cyclone Gabrielle, initially rebuilding a timber pole carport destroyed in the event and subsequently reinstating the insured dwelling.
The carport works included site establishment, health and safety planning, traffic management approvals, piling, steel fabrication and installation, carpentry, roofing, electrical fit-off, painting, and under-house pile repairs, completed in accordance with resource consent requirements and council conditions.
The dwelling reinstatement involved repair of external cladding with custom-manufactured shiplap timber, installation of building wrap and flashing, new French doors, and staining to match existing finishes. Internally, damaged flooring, plasterboard, and insulation were replaced, and kitchen cabinetry was carefully removed, stored, and reinstated. All plaster, painting, and finishes were completed to a high standard, restoring the home to its pre-loss condition.
Throughout, Resolution coordinated trades, consultants, and preliminary works, ensuring compliance, quality, and clear communication with the insurer and insured. The project demonstrates expertise in managing evolving, multi-stage recovery projects under tight timelines and complex conditions.
